tornadoes

Dreaming of tornadoes. Rex was driving. We were on 125 coming from Hamersville into Bethel.
It was one of those too-bright glittery days, when the sunlight had a sharp edge to it. The skies were blue and mostly cloudless.
As we got closer to town, everything just started looking really messy and piled up. Not really massive destruction, but houses reduced to piles of sticks etc.
Then we were driving on 133 toward Williamsburg on our way to o
Owensville and I said to Rex the was weird. Together we wondered what had happened and one of us said it almost looked as if a tornado had gone through, even though everything destroyed had looked so neat and it wasn't even raining, even if the light was strange.
Do you suppose it could have been a tornado?
And there it was, outside the window, way across the fields where the electric towers are.
OMG Rex yes. There it is. Look it's heading for us.
This was a long, skinny ropy tornado.
That's the coherent part. The rest of it is something of a montage of different people and places.
At one point it was Chip driving and it it was a squat fat tornado spinning outside the car window across fields.
Another time, I was running outside and the rain stung like thorns and I was suddenly knocked down sprawled on the grass and was yelling at someone (Rex?) that at least I wasn't stupid enough to go outside and lay myself face down in a ditch full of water like the TV keeps telling people to do. Something about being flat on flat land so you weren't a different formation and the tornado would go suck up something that sticks up.
That was a massively huge and thick storm and when it passed I was spread-eagled on my back on a section of white pavement (concrete ) roadway. Other cars were around, but all strangers.
There was a part about going into the basement at Grandma Schmidt's house, something I don't remember any details of but am pretty sure I did at least once with Lucy.
A couple other cellars, but not any I knew. A dugout in a riverbank. A stack of fallen logs /trees after a brief but spirited argument about not hiding inside a hollow spot in a tall standing tree. Because lightning, even if there weren't any more tornadoes. Which we could see at least tree of the ropy ones dropping trough the blue skies.

I speculate that this may be "My Year in Review" for 2020.

The Brownest Person I Know

I'm puzzled by this dream, which is the only reason I'm sharing it here. I wasn't going to, because I was afraid of offending someone. But it is still the dream, I dreamed or at least a piece of it.

I am in a hospital. For the most part I am visiting with and advocating for my daughter, mostly so I can understand what is going on with her.  (This is a real thing right now.)

Mostly it is me going to various departments with folders full of papaers and asking people a bunch of questions that they would sometimes have to go ask someone else or direct me to someone else.
Sometimes it would be a flashback to some time I (the dream me) had been hospitalized.
, I met a Person of Color in the hallway. He was wearing scrubs, had his own handful of papers, and he asked me something, and we were talking, casually but familiarly, so in the dream it was someone I knew well enough to be casual with.

I was watching the light play on his skin -- fluorescent lights, and admiring the smoothness of his skin, and the changes in color tones and shading, and suddenly I just blurted out, "You're the brownest person I've ever seen!"

He looked mildly surprised , and I started babbling. Because it wasn't true. It isn't true. I've seen and talked to people of most hues, even in my little corner of the world.

And this is where I woke up.  I don't know if it was the rudeness or the ignorance I found more jarring, or if it's just the mystery.

What DID I mean by "brown?" And why did it seem necessary for me to exclaim about it?

dreamed about a box being delivered to my porch. Smaller than a shoe box; larger than a VHS case. Very solid. Black. I was happy (giddy) abo...
